Spain Day 3 and 4- Sevilla
Sevilla was by far my favorite!! It is the most beautiful city I have ever seen! The architecture is amazing and the streets are so quaint! Also Sevilla was extremely hot but nothing we could not handle being from southeast Georgia. We left Madrid and took the train to Sevilla. Upon arriving and checking into our hotel we mapped out our day! We were not in walking distance to the city center (thanks to me booking the hotel, oops) and took a short bus ride into downtown. It was later in the afternoon so we mainly just spent the day walking around. First we located a cute place to eat lunch. We were past lunch hours so we mainly had wine and a snack! The rest of the day was spent exploring until dinner. We found the most delicious place for dinner and the chef offered to make us a meat sample platter. It was delicious!! After so many not so great meals we did to leave a bit of food! We sat out on the street and people watched and listened to the cathedral bells as we ate our meal. Such a great night!

Spain Day 2- Madrid
Day two in Spain was spent exploring Madrid. We loved this city! We are early risers so we were ready to hit the ground running early! We ventured over to the grand palace. Grand was an understatement! This place was amazing! It looked like a castle out of a fairy tale. The architecture and detail was so beautiful and I could have walked around for hours! I was amazed it still looked so good since it was centuries old! We spent a good amount of time walking from room to room just admiring everything. After we left the palace we were in search of lunch and found a cute little café on a little side street, just perfect for people watching (a favorite pastime of mine!). We each had the paella and it was delicious! The rest of the day was spent just walking the city, going to the different squares and the occasional stop for a sangria or wine break! The wine in Spain was so good and so inexpensive. That first day we clocked 10 miles on our fitbits before we headed in for dinner. We are true believers that you cannot see a city unless you walk and that is exactly what we did! After a brief hotel break we headed to dinner in one of Spain's many squares. In Spain the lunch and dinner times are very different that what we are used to. Lunch consists of a big meal and is served with wine between 2-4 followed by an afternoon nap or siesta. Dinner can be anywhere from 10-midnight. It is mainly small plates or tapas paired with wine. It was so confusing to us! That is the end of day two.
Anniversary Trip to Spain, Day 1, Madrid
This post is me backtracking so I can document our recent travels to Spain So we love to travel. Like really, really love it. We love new food, new adventures and just getting lost in a city! We traveled to Spain in July for our first anniversary. Our original plan was to travel by military plane. It is referred to as Space A (or space available) meaning you can fly any available seats on an army cargo plane. Like I said we are always up for an adventure so we thought why not give it a try! So long story short after traveling up the east coast for 3 days we were not able to get a seat on the plan as they are only given on a space available basis. (if anyone military wants to know more about our space A travels I am happy to elaborate a little more). As our hearts were already set on Spain we bought 2 last minute tickets (and when I say last minute I mean as in bought that morning, drove 1.5 hrs to the airport and left that night!) at a surprisingly great price and we were finally on our way. We prefer comfort and mobility when traveling so we packed everything for 10 days in a carry on and each of us carried a back pack. It is not glamorous traveling, just functional! We first flew into Madrid. Such a gorgeous city! Very similar to New York City but the buildings are old and the architecture is just breathtaking! We checked in our hotel , Hotel Sidorme Fuencarral 52. Located in Gran Via, which is also known as Madrid's time square. We loved this hotel! It was centrally located so we could walk to everything. Since we arrived later in the afternoon we found a cute little restaurant to sit outside and people watch and ordered our first (of many) pitchers of Sangria. Long first day but oh so worth it!
